The goal during your newborn session is to help your baby feel calm and relaxed with me. The first thing I want to share is that I keep my studio 5-10 degrees warmer than usual, This is to help baby feel snug and sleepy.
This is me telling you to dress yourself in lightweight clothing or layers.
I value your time, saying this a session with me can take 1.5-2 hours, though on occasions I may go over.
I do have several props, outfits, wraps and hats. If you would like to bring an heirloom or something you want your little one to wear please feel free to bring these items. I love Avery’s waffle white wrap and her custom made hat. I am so glad mom thought to bring these items.
Your newborn’s arrival is not normally planned so I do set an attentive date with you. If baby is not here or arrives early this gives us wiggle room to get you in the studio. I suggest you schedule your session when baby is 5-10 days old, Baby is sleep and snuggly and will allow for all the cute poses. Please let me know when baby arrives with a call, text, or email.
Shoots with “older” newborns (2 If baby needs time in the NICU or you do not get in the studio before baby turns 2 weeks old we can always do a lifestyle home session as these are just as beautiful, these are just a little different–we get more eye contact, and babies look a little different than they do in the first two weeks. I get calls all the time from moms whose babies are already here and they want to schedule a shoot or babies who have spent time in the NICU and were unable to shoot a session in the first couple weeks. Don’t feel you can not get these cute snuggly photos. We make the session work for your baby and your family.
