Today I was sitting in the office and I was thinking about my small town and small businesses in this small town. I have always been one to support our local businesses are you a shop local person as well? I have seen so many small businesses close in my small town. I wish that my purchases shopping small would keep them in business but it takes more then just me to support them.
How do you strengthen your small town businesses? Small businesses are often an important part of the local community, and supporting them contributes to the economic well-being of our area. In order to do this business owners need to bring businesses that they feel the community will show up and shop from. My next question is a loaded one… It is not at all me asking to open a new business. Seriously my photography business is something I am still pushing to grow. What do you feel your small town could thrive at having?
When I ask the above question, I am not just asking for the doors to open at a business and we as a community support. I want to know about the people who will work as employees at this said business. Will this be a place for your local kids to work at? Will this help a single mom part-time or will this help a family pay their bills and live nicely? Maybe have a little cushion in the purse to take the kids to the skating rink, a movie, maybe thinking bigger and go on a weekend vacation.
As a small business myself. I am an employee of one. I am not contributing to helping someone gain a job but, I am willing to teach our community or schools about basic photography. I also willing to teach small businesses for a photographer and I have helped our local schools in the process of an interview. I would like to help more in the community when I can. I have judged the Union, Missouri parade at Christmas time several years ago and I really enjoyed this. As a small business of one I want to ask you, what else do you think we can do in our community to help the locals?
This is a long winded blog as I am asking you the community. You the local small town person how can we small town people whether you are in my small town or a small town yourself how can we help. I do not have a cash flow to help this way. However, I have sponsored a school student and a small sponsor with my local community team. These are little things I knew I could do. But how else do you feel a small business owner that is not really making extra money can help the community? Is there a volunteer community list we can find? How does a small businesses meet more of the community family’s.
That is it. My small article that was in my head and is currently being shared with someone reading this. I am not sure many are clicking my blogs on my page, I am not sure that my blogs are being shared for someone else to read. I am not giving up and I am going to continue to write about things other than photography. Maybe just maybe I will pick a topic that intrigues you. Happy Reading!
