Pull out that crockpot! | Union,Missouri

HEY!!!! It is Crocktober, I love the month of October and not just because it is my birthday month. I admit I use my crock pot all year but, it does get the most use in the fall and winter months.

This year I turn the BIG 50, I was terrified of turning fifty. I think it is because as I grew up I would see my parents friends having OVER THE HILL parties and the words Over The Hill made me feel like this number meant the end of time. I know do not giggle at me or shake your head and think girl!

I decided to turn my mindset around and focus on positive and healthy living. I started going to my local gym, eating healthier and setting work hours that I stick with. I am really trying to learn not to have my phone attached to me at all times as well. Is anyone wanting to start this journey or has started this journey? I would love to hear how you are managing work\life balance.

Let me get back on Crocktober, I am wanting to share some yummy crockpot ideas. I love dinner ideas with my crockpot. There is nothing better then to grab all those fresh ingredients and putting them in the crockpot to come home to a nice homemade meal.

First I want to share my newest crockpot with you. I was so excited to get this as a gift for Christmas last year. https://www.amazon.com/Ninja-MC1001-PossibleCooker-Multi-Cooker-Integrated/dp/B0B4PPHG8G/ref=cs_sr_dp_2?crid=1GBGB2YJ2LA78&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.Z-WI14g1l8l9Jj-GAiCYAsu1MCn6elAL3bUFqosopAK8s6kwm-ZuLE9tFdL0Uip1u_c0SIxyJ33acjQn89v7p8YbfdoQMdeADHfUO8CtOmjH35rhK5qWE10X3vuS7TpBpFPC-YThmAhrcDQKD3ua35luvA3vAoKTxo2l6_LH3FnhV3iFIww38neOrWM-BkUYEorZnUsEtkiMxsKERX7Q6-RKc4IFFMb3LfgN_amvQoY.gX8hhYHDz8oimeokZ3_HAPcPocgGYeqsM19bJ-FaWnc&dib_tag=se&keywords=ninja%2Bcrockpot%2B10%2B%2Bquart%2Bslow%2Bcooker&qid=1728574553&sprefix=Ninja%2BCrock%2Caps%2C127&sr=8-1&th=1

This crockpot is a Multi-Cooker: This little beauty is a Slow Cooker, Dutch Oven and Steamer. It cooks evenly and all around the base. Having a Glass Lid helps to see what your delicous foods look like as they cook for those who want to not only smell the goodness but wants to see the food when not ready to need stirring. I almost forgot it also as a Integrated Spoon this is nice for bringing your foods to holiday gatherings it is also Nonstick for easy clean up. If you decide to add this to your kitchen, I am not affiliated with amazon or the product itself. I am just a good friend and want to share the product with you.

Let me share one of my favorite crockpot recipes with you.

Chicken Noodle Soup

1 container of Swanson Chicken stock (You can of course make your own stock).

Boil your chicken till cooked, I like to shredded my chicken but you can cube your chicken as well.

A bushel of carrots: washed and chopped. Put them in your crockpot.

Celery: Wash and cut your celery and put it in the crockpot.

1 Small Onion: Chopped and added to crockpot.

Seasonings I add to crock pot: I do not measure and I am generous to the crockpot. sea salt (I use Real salt). Pepper, Italian seasoning.

I grow my own basil. Wash, chop and add.

I let this cook until carrots are cooked. I do not like mushy carrots so mine are cooked less than those who like there carrots real soft.

I alternate noodles and rice and I cook this separate from my crockpot. I do not like mushy noodles either so I want to make sure they are cooked the way I like it. I strain noodles or rice and add it to the soup.

I serve this with sourdough that I bake from Scratch. If you are wanting to learn how to start a starter or are interested in grabbing starter from me let me know. I will be making a new starter this week as I am not a huge bread eater and I tend to make my sourdough as a comfort food in the winter. I am also going to try my hand at making honey butter. I will keep you posted on this.
