First time in Colorado

Hello! I am back in Missouri. As promised I told you I would share my April blog. It is only fitting to share Colorado with you. I must first share if you ever get the opportunity to visit Colorado stop at a gas station and grab a can of oxygen. If you are hiking you will need it! You may want to grab some tissues as well.

I found that after almost 7 months of training for hiking, nothing prepares you for the elevation. The scenery was absolutely beautiful.

Our first venture was to the Garden of the Gods. Garden of the Gods is a beautiful park in Colorado Springs, Colorado. You can spend anywhere from 1 hour to 6 hours hiking this park.

As you see we went close to sunset as we wanted to watch the sunset hide behind the mountains.

As you can see it did not disappoint.

Watching my husband was one of my favorite things in Colorado. He was in awe with nature and the mountains. He could not decide if he wanted his phone or his camera. I took this photo as the sun hide behind the mountains. As, I turned around I saw this tree and before it became to dark I had to take a photo. What do you think?

I do have these images set to a website format. These are not at all printable. If you see a photo of our Colorado trip that you want please reach out and we can discuss the size of print you are wanting.

My family and I had such a memorable experience in Colorado. Our daughter was married at Dillion Lake, Dillon Reservoir Recreation.

Dillion Lake is breath taking and her wedding was amazing. It was a chilly and windy day that didn’t disappoint the feel of Colorado.

Dillion Lake is not a place to swim as the cold temperatures and potential water quality concerns are a huge risk. You can paddle board or sail. Unfortunately we were unable to do either as you can see we are still in the ice and snowy season.

The lake is home to Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Kokanee Salmon and Arctic Char. You can fish her in the winter and the summer. A spot for any season.

On day two we hiked Red Rocks Park. This is in Jefferson County, Colorado. This park is beautiful with red sandstone. This was once known in the 1870’s as the Garden of the Angels.

Mike and I found a face on this rock humorous, needless to say I had to share it with you.

Colorado is beautiful and very dry. My advise is to carry lotion with you.

The red rocks are different shades of red and some are almost orange.

I found I really enjoyed hiking and site seeing. I plan on continuing my passion for hiking other parks. If you have a beautiful and enjoyable hiking trail, I would love to hear about them.

Colorado was a success. We left with our baby girl married and a “SON”. I call it a successful adventure!

As I end this blog I would love to hear from you!

If you traveled to Colorado what was your favorite thing that you did or saw?
